Mossyback Bass Club is a new club in Panama City, Florida. The club was formed in April, 2013. Our first meeting open to the public was on Thursday, May 16th, with the first tournament the following Tuesday. You must be 60 years of age or older to join the "Old Mossybacks" and you must own a boat suitable for bass fishing.

We are a non-affiliated bass club, fishing rivers and lakes in Northwest Florida (Apalachicola, Chipola, Brothers Rivers, Lake Wimico, etc.). You can view our past tournament locations, results and pictures on the Tournament Schedules/Results page.

Our tournament is on the third Tuesday of each month with a club meeting being on Thursday prior to the tournament. The meeting is held at Sonny's Bar-B-Q in Lynn Haven, across from Walmart on Hwy 77, starting at 6:00 p.m. Landings are presented from the floor and voted on to determine which landing the Tuesday tournament will launch from and take off positions are determined by drawing names from a hat. Normal hours of fishing a tournament are from safelight a.m. until 3:00 p.m.. These hours may vary depending on weather and/or water conditions. Tournament entry fees are $25.00 per person and all monies are paid out except a $2.00 per angler club fee paid to the club. We pay three places - first, second and third most weight and one place for best lunker.

Our purpose as a bass club is to stimulate public awareness of bass fishing as a major sport, improve our skill as bass anglers through a fellowship of friendly exchanges of expert bass catching techniques and ideas, and to promote and encourage youth fishing and love for this great sport.

We enjoy each other's company, the competition and excitement that surrounds a day of tournament fishing, and the frantic rush to the landing so we do not miss weigh-in.
